Candidates For VI Peel
Ideal candidates for VI Peel are those seeking improvement in skin tone and texture. VI peel can also be used as a maintenance peel for skin health. VI Peels are great treatments because there are six custom peels that can treat virtually all skin types. The VI peel has downtime, so patients should be prepared for active peeling.
Preparing For VI Peel
All patients have a consultation prior to receiving the VI Peel. We discuss allergies and other historical factors to discern if the peel is not a good option. We also discuss your personal history of skin conditions to see if we can safely perform the treatment. If you are on Accutane, for example, we cannot perform this peel. Also, if you have a history of skin picking, we do not recommend this peel.
Once you are considered a good candidate, we typically recommend discontinuing all exfoliating treatments 72 hours prior to peel. Exfoliating treatments include Vitamin A products and hydroxy acids. We also prescribe antiviral medications to prevent post-peel cold sore outbreaks.
